MASS MoCA

we went to western massachusetts for our anniversary weekend.  i went to college in that area, but we made the trip our own by going up to north adams, at the very northwestern tip of the state (i was in provincetown last weekend, which means i visited the whole 6 hour span of this small and beautiful state this week).

north adams is the home to a really amazing contemporary arts center, MASS MoCA, an old factory-turned-installation-site. it is worth a trip.

located in the beautiful berkshire mountain range

katharina grosse's massive installation

the painted mounds of dirt and chunks of styrofoam felt vibrant and glacial

a vortex of old wooden parts

collection of paper bags (marked with the name of the worker who made them) reminded me of dad's brick wall
